The purpose of this study is to examine the differences of the self-efficacy, the career decision level, the career attitude maturity, and the career preparation behavior by gender, grade and major studies, and the impact of the self-efficacy, the career decision level, and the career attitude maturity on the career preparation behavior.
The specific research issues for this study are as follows;
First, are there any significant difference in the self-efficacy, the career decision level, the career attitude maturity and the career preparation behavior by the gender, the grade and the major studies?
Second, what impact has self-efficacy on the career preparation behavior?
Third, what impact has the career decision level on the career preparation behavior?
Fourth, what impact has the career attitude maturity on the career preparation behavior?
To do this, in this study, the degree and level of the general self-efficacy and the social self-efficacy as the sub factors of self-efficacy, the conviction level and the career decision as the sub factors of the career decision level, and the decision, the objectiveness, the conviction, the preparation, the independency as sub factors of the career preparation behavior are measured from the 220 subject students of freshmen, junior, sophomore and senior of the 3 universities located in Seoul using career preparation behavior scale.
The results of the study are as follows;
First, the examination results on the self-efficacy, the career decision level, the career attitude maturity and the career preparation behavior by gender, no significant statistical difference was shown.
Second, in the examination results on the self-efficacy, the career decision level, the career attitude maturity and the career preparation behavior, the general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy as sub factors of self-efficacy are represented highest in the seniors. The career decision out of sub factors of career decision level are represented highest in the sophomores. The objectiveness as sub factors of career attitude maturity are represented highest in the sophomores, conviction and preparation as sub factors of career attitude maturity are in the seniors. The career preparation behavior are represented highest in the seniors.
Third, in the examination results on the self-efficacy, the career decision level, the career attitude maturity and the career preparation behavior by the major studies, no significant impact appears in the self-efficacy, the conviction level and the career decision as sub factors of the career decision level are represented highest in the students majoring in art studies. Although there are no significant difference in the objectiveness, conviction and independency out of sub factors of career attitude maturity, the decision are represented highest among the students majoring in art studies and the preparation is among the students of education studies, and the career preparation behavior are among the students of art studies.
Fourth, as to the impacts of the self-efficacy, the career decision level, and the career attitude maturity on the career preparation behavior, the self-efficacy, the career decision level, and the career attitude maturity are represented the significant impacts on the career preparation behavior. The self-efficacy, the career decision level, and the career attitude maturity are higher, the more positive impacts are represented.
As shown in the study result, by increasing positive self-efficacy, which has effect on the career preparation behavior, the career decision level, which reflects the degree of confidence, and the career attitude maturity, which reflects the degree of attitude maturity toward the career, the matters to be performed in career preparation can be identified.
Therefore, it is necessary to establish the system to provide differentiated career service such as career counseling or career preparation program for the university student to achieve objective career determined.
