중학교 과학교과서 성교육 관련 내용 분석과 중학생의 성지식 수준 및 요구도 조사 연구 = Research Articles : Content Analysis of Sex Education in the Middle School Science Textbooks and Survey on Middle School Students` Knowledge Levels and Demands of Sex Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is aiming at providing fundamental data of sex education and suggesting desirable directions in the science curriculum. Content analysis of sex education in seven science textbooks was conducted and the knowledge level and the demand of sex education were surveyed on 402 students in middle schools of Kyungin area. For the research, three main topics were chosen for the sex education in the science curriculum: `Genital organ and function`, `Pregnancy and Delivery` and `Health for Sex`. Middle school students` knowledge about `Health for Sex` was the lowest level among 3 topics. Students wanted to learn on `Health for Sex` the most. Science textbooks hardly dealt with this topic. For more effective sex education in the science curriculum, it is necessary to add new information about `the Health for Sex` to the science textbooks and reflect students` understanding levels and demands for the sex education.
