김정은, 2026, 고향의 기억과 이동하는 여성들, 어문연구, 209 : 121~149 이 글은 이경자의 고향 서사를 중심으로 여성의 이동과 생존의 서사가 어떠한 서사적 태도를 통해 구성되는지를 고찰한다. 「할미소에서 생긴 일」과 『사랑과 상처』는 식민지·전쟁·산업화·이주로 이어지는 시대의 변화를 여성의 몸과 언어를 통해 기록한 작품으로, 여성의 이동이 가부장제의 제약 속에서 이루어지는 젠더화된 생존의 서사로 드러난다. 특히 『사랑과 상처』는 개인의 자유로운 결단을 전제한 ‘선택의 윤리’에 대응하면서, 여성의 삶을 문화적 풍토와 구조의 문제로 재배치한다. 본 논문은 이러한 서사적 태도를 에스노그라피적 글쓰기라는 인식 장치로 읽으며, 이경자가 사회적 질서와 문화적 규범이 작동하는 구체적 삶의 장면을 기록하고자 했다는 점에 주목한다. 이러한 서사적 태도는 여성 작가의 작품이 정치적 입장이나 윤리적 선언으로 환원되어 읽히는 것을 경계하면서, 가부장제 문화의 작동 방식을 삶의 기록을 통해 드러내는 또 다른 의미의 정치성을 지닌 것으로 이해할 수 있다.

Focusing on An Incident at Halmi Pond and Love and Wounds, this study examines how narratives of women’s mobility and survival are constructed through particular narrative attitudes in Lee Kyung-ja’s hometown narratives. These works record historical transformations, from colonialism and war to industrialization and migration, through women’s embodied experiences and language, thereby revealing their mobility as a gendered mode of survival shaped by patriarchal constraints. By repositioning women’s lives as matters of cultural milieu and structural conditions, Love and Wounds responds to the “ethics of choice,” which presumes individual autonomy and free decision-making.
Reading Lee’s narrative stance through ethnographic writing as an interpretive lens, this study highlights her effort to record concrete scenes of everyday life in which social order and cultural norms operate. Such a narrative attitude can be understood as embodying another form of political engagement: while cautioning against reducing women writers’works to explicit political positions or moral declarations, Lee’s writing documents the workings of patriarchal culture through records of lived experience.
