장티푸스환자의 간침생검 (肝針生檢) 조직소견에 (組織所見) 관한 연구 = A Histological Finding of Liver Needle Biopsy in Patients with Typhoid Fever

Liver function test and needle biopsy of the liver were p rformed in 23 patients with typhoid fever confirmed by bacteriological and/or serological test. Histological findings of the liver were compared with clinical, biochemical and bacteriological findings. Following resuIts were obtained: 1. The needle biopsy specimens of the Jiver showed pathologically typhoid nodule in 6 cases (26. I.o), nan-specific in 15 cases including miId cholestasis in 9 cases (39. 1%), p riportal infla mmation in 8 cases (34. Sia) fatty infiltration in 5 cases (21. 8Zo). No pathological change was found only in 2 cases (8. 7%). 2. Both SGOT and SPT were elevated in lo cases (G9. 69o) and SGOT alone in 3 cases 13. 0%), alkaline phcsphatase in 13 cas s (56. 5%). There was no difference in liver function test between the grcup with typhoid nodu'e and without typ!ioid noduIe. 3. Bacteriological studies showed positive blood culture in 56. 5% and positive stool culture in 39. 1% of the total cases. 3Vidal reaction (1: 160) were positive in 30. 4Po of the total cases- The incidence of positive blood cu'ture (83. 3%) in the group with typhoid nodu]e was markedly higher than that in the group without typhoid nodule (47. 1%) 4.
