A Comparative Study of the Internet Use between Teachers and Students in the Context of Korean Language Education Kim, Jeong-JaIt is necessary to carry out researches on teachers and students so as to practice digital communication education in Korean language education. We carried out research on Internet use among Korean language teachers and students. The subjects of this survey are Korean language teachers and students in six middle schools and six high schools in the National Capital region and students in five universities. There are considerable differences in Internet use of two groups. Korean language teachers use Internet news/magazines and e-learning more frequently than students. On the contrary, students use the same Internet service as instant messenger, game, community, web BBS, movie/music/moving image, and cyber literature more frequently than teachers.Internet services that two groups consider importantly are different. Korean language teachers had more negative opinions about use of the CMC (computer mediated communication) language and cyber literature than students. Although teachers use Internet less than students, they consider more than students that Internet education is needed. Two groups are different in selection of contents to learn or teach.Therefore we have to pay attention to digital divided between two groups. Teachers need to have Internet literacy to teach modes of communication in Internet. When we select contents for Internet education, we need to consider Internet use of students.
