도덕적 역량 중심의 초등 도덕과 교육 접근방안 탐색 = An Exploratory Investigation on the Moral Competence Based Approach in the Elementary School Moral Subject Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 덕목 중심의 초등 도덕과교육이 어떤 문제점들을 지니고 있는지를 밝히고, 도덕적 역량 중심의 초등 도덕과교육 접근방안을 모색한다. 이를 위해 2015 도덕과 교육과정에 명시된 역량, 기능, 가치, 덕 등의 주요 용어의 개념을 규정하고, 이들 용어 간의 유사점과 차이점을 규명한다. 그리고 이를 토대로 도덕적 역량 중심 접근의 구조와 적용방안을 논의한다. 도덕적 역량은 행동적 영역을 중심으로 도덕적 덕과 수행적 덕이 교차하는 영역을 의미하며, 기능은 구체적인 행위로 드러나는 요소를 뜻한다. 도덕적 역량 중심의 접근은 도덕적 이슈들을 교육과정의 내용요소와 교과서 단원의 주제로 선정한다. 학생들은 핵심 가치를 중심으로 도덕적 주제들을 논의하는 과정을 통해 미래 사회에 필요한 도덕적 역량을 키우며 통합적 인격 형성의 기초를 마련할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this essay is to indicate the problems of 'the bags of virtues' approach and explore an application of the moral competence based approach in elementary school moral subject education. To do this, The concepts of major terms(competence, skills, value, and virtue) which are clearly stated in the 2015 moral education curriculum will be defined and examined the similarities and differences of those terms. And on that basis, The structure and application scheme of moral competence based approach will be discussed in exploratory dimension. The moral competence means the overlapping domains of moral virtues and performance virtues based on behavioral domain. The skills connotes an element which is exposed to specific actions among moral competences and can be rationalized by the core values. The moral competence based approach selects moral issues as the contents of moral education curriculum and the themes of text units, and it can emerge from reductionist educational system which is inevitably derived from the elements of morality. Students can develop the foundations of moral competence and form the basis for integrated character building through discussing moral themes in accordance with core values.
