텔레비전 장르의 중첩적 공진화(dual co-evolution) = 사극 〈허준〉 〈태조 왕건〉 분석을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

구조화된 문화적 취향으로서의 아비투스가 아니라 구조화 과정으로서의 사회적 아비투스인 텔레비전은 정치경제학적 변화, 방송 산업의 변화, 수용자들의 감성구조의 변화 같은 요동을 지닌다. 이 요동은 특정 장르를 변화시키기도 하고 연쇄적으로 다른 장르의 변화를 이끌기도 하며 사회의 변화와도 관련된다. 이런 점에서 텔레비전 장르 연구는 중첩적 공진화 개념의 유용성을 점검해 볼 필요가 있다. 타 장르나 텍스트와의 상호 침투성과 장르-사회 간의 역동성 및 정치성을 드러내는 두 겹의 중첩적 공진화는 장르를 분류나 범주로, 구조화된 결과물로 파악하는 확정의 완고한 경향으로부터 탈피하여 텔레비전 장르 연구의 새로운 가능성을 모색하게 한다. 이 연구는 사극 장르의 구체적인 변화 과정을 통해 이를 실증적으로 설명한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A concept. “Dual Co-Evolution,”(hereafter DCE) is being introduced in this study for extending popular genre studies into the further advanced level. The concept, through which a TV drama genre is tested whether works or not, implies that a genre has a dialogue with not only other neighboring genres, but society. The dialogue is not one-sided. Both sides in the process of dialogue give an effectivity to each other. The magnitude of the influence depends on the circumstances in which the genres are put and dialogues take place. The concept, DCE, succinctly represents the dynamics of popular genre and makes genre students reframe their works.
Two television dramas are brought in to test if DCE can enhance the level of genre study. The study is showing that the concept is so helpful that it can not only lead genre studies to a well organized territory, but add political meaning to the studies, At the first level of co-evolution, the (historical) dramas, which deals historically great persons and events, are seen as being influenced in terms of styles by contemporary dramas. The intertextuality seems to happen even in between the historical dramas and contemporary soap operas, The other level of co-evolution refers to frequent dialogues between socio-political circumstances and the genres. The historical dramas take advantage of social, political events and mingle historical facts with contemporary events.
