In this thesis, the efficient impedance matching system for the watt-hour meter, which is necessary for the low-loss reverse transmission of the surplus electricity generated from the small-scale system or personal photovoltaic system to the commercial electric power system, was studied.
Because the impedance of the most watt-hour meter available in the market does not match with peripherals in the system, the electric power transmission amount can not be measured exactly. The basic structure of the existing digital watt-hour meter and the impedance matching problem between analog and digital part were analyzed. The impedance matching circuit was designed and fabricated. The experimental result shows that the power transmission system using the designed circuit has improved impedance matching characteristics and lower transmission loss was realized.
