표준수업시수제 도입에 관한 교원의 인식 연구 = A Study of Teachers’ Responses to the Introduction of Standard Teaching Hours

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to establish a standard of weekly teaching hours by seeking opinions on the introduction of standard teaching hours. A sample group of in-service elementary, middle, and high school teachers throughout Korea participated in an online survey for two weeks, and 39,508 of them were finally collected for data analysis. The results were as follows. The teachers showed positive attitudes toward the introduction of standard teaching hours and 32.5 percent of them preferred “legalization” as the first step toward establishing standard teaching hours. Many teachers answered that schools should adopt standard teaching hours. In addition, results showed that the actual number of hours logged for “school management and administration” were much more excessive than the ideal number of hours taught. However, in the case of “course guidance” and “classroom management and student guidance”, the actual number of hours taught appeared to be lower than the ideal number of hours taught. Lastly, the teachers presented their opinions on the priorities of elements that have to be reflected in the legalization of standard teaching hours, solutions for the shortage of standard teaching hours, and practical issues for the introduction of standard teaching hours.
