The appropriate maintenance of the highway roads for plays a vital role for the safety purposes and to reduce the road accidents. Thus, in this work, we proposed automatic expansion joint detection in real-time using state of the art computer vision based methods that is powered by deep learning networks. Our method includes three main steps: (1) data acquisition, (2) data preparation (3) expansion joint detection and its validation. To detect expansion joint three classes are chosen for the dataset labelling: arrow, pentagon, roadsign. Overall, the obtained results shows that our proposed method highly-efficient in terms of speed and performance.
