중학생의 진로정체감과 지각된 부모 지지가 진로의식성숙에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Career Identity and Parents' Support on Career Maturity for Middle School Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of middle school students' career identity and their parents' support on career maturity. The problems of this study were first, what were the effects that middle school students' career identity caused to their career maturity? Second, what were the effects that their parents' support caused to their career maturity? The subjects of the study were 1,377 middle school students selected randomly from 6 middle schools, Daegu and Kyeongbuk in Korea. The characteristics of middle school students used as independent variables were career identity and parents' support. The data were analyzed the influences of career identity and parent's support on career maturity by using Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression techniques.
The results of this study were first, there appeared to be positive correlations between the career identity and career maturity. Specially, the males had influenced on independence of career maturity by uniqueness of career identity. However, the females scored significantly high on compromise of career maturity in self-esteem of career identity. Second, the parents’ support and career maturity revealed little relationship for the middle school students. The variable of parents’ support was not a significant predictor of career maturity. It may be useful to conduct a study similar to the one reported here with students from communities in other regional cultures in Korea.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학생의 진로정체감과 지각된 부모 지지가 진로의식성숙에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있었다. 연구문제는 첫째, 중학생의 진로정체감이 진로의식성숙 수준에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 둘째, 중학생의 지각된 부모 지지가 진로의식성숙 수준에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 이다. 연구대상은 대구광역시와 경상북도 지역의 6개 중학교 학생 1,377명을 무선표집하였다. 측정도구는 진로정체감을 측정하기 위하여 Holland, Daiger 및 Power(1980)가 개발한 진로정체감척도(Vocational Identity Scale)와 Digman(1990)이 제작한 자아정체감검사를 진로 관련 문항으로 번안하여 사용하였다. 부모 지지는 Bandura(1981)의 척도(Inventory of Socially Supportive Behaviors)를 번안하여 사용하였다. 진로의식성숙 수준은 Crites(1978)의 진로의식성숙검사(Career Maturity Inventory) 중에서 Counseling form(B-1)을 번안하여 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 진로정체감과 지각된 부모 지지가 진로의식성숙에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 진로정체감과 진로의식성숙 간의 관계를 보면 남녀학생의 경우, 진로정체감과 진로의식성숙 수준은 대체로 의미 있는 상관을 보여주었으며, 전체적으로 진로정체감은 진로의식성숙에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 남학생은 진로정체감의 독특성이 진로의식성숙의 독립성에, 여학생은 자기존재 의식이 타협성에 많은 영향력을 보여주었다. 둘째, 지각된 부모 지지와 진로의식성숙과의 관계를 살펴보면, 남학생은 지각된 부모 지지에서 아버지 평가, 아버지 정보, 어머니 정서, 어머니 평가 및 어머니 정보가 진로의식성숙의 성향과 낮은 상관을 보여주었으며, 여학생은 지각된 부모 지지와 진로의식성숙과는 유의미한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 지각된 부모 지지는 진로의식성숙 수준에 약하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 본 연구에서 주목할 만한 점은 남학생의 경우 부모 모두에 의해 영향을 받지만, 여학생은 아버지의 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 바람직한 진로의식성숙을 위해서 성별에 따라 진로지도의 방향과 부모의 개입이 달라져야 함을 시사한다고 볼 수 있다.
