      With the advancement of technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, the importance of data is growing due to the great effort to derive insights from it. In addition, a method for ensuring data reliability and transparency is required. A technology that can meet these requirements is blockchain. Blockchain refers to a distributed ledger with blocks that are connected to a chain using a hash function, shared between nodes, and synchronized with a consensus mechanism. The technology that enables the use and operation of these distributed ledgers is blockchain technology. The development of blockchain based applications, from the suitability assessment of the blockchain to its operation and maintenance, adds the unique characteristics of the blockchain such as smart contract and implementation platforms to the existing software development. In this paper, we reviewed characteristics and practicality of the existing blockchain based software development process and suggested the prototyping process of it. As a case study, we developed a used car trading application to prevent manipulation and forgery of used car related contents that may occur in the car trading and to solve the problem of transaction transparency and reliability among various participants. Hyperledger Fabric, a permissioned blockchain technology, is applied as an implementation technology and it increases the reliability of the transaction process by introducing a member service provider function that guarantees transactions among trusted participants.
