문화도시 만들기에 대한 인식유형 연구: 광주문화중심도시조성사업 관련자들에 대한 Q-방법론 연구 = A Study on the Cognition Types on the Gwangju Culture City Project: A Q-Methodological Approach

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study, applying Q-Methodology, is to map out cognition types of 35 persons who has been engaged in the Gwangju Culture City Project which has been under local controversies. The results generated four types: Type Ⅰ, the Citizen Participation Oriented; Type Ⅱ, Culture Policy Oriented; Type Ⅲ, Regional Economic Development Oriented; and, Type Ⅳ, The Mixed. Type Ⅰ, which accounted 64.11 percent of total variance, emphasized the democracy in which opportunities and procedures for voluntary civic participation are guaranteed, as well as creative activities of culture and art and its supporting systems are guaranteed. Type Ⅱ emphasized active policy development for the culture city project. Type Ⅲ regard the culture city project as a part of balanced national development. Type Ⅳ has a mixed position. This type agrees with Type Ⅰ in terms of its goals and visions and with Type Ⅱ in terms of its propelling and executing entities. These results implied that any regional development project should be carried out based on the democratic procedure within a community rather than as an implementation by central government.
