Development of industries and technologies has prospered material civilization. Thus knowledge about product information has expanded. People's daily understanding of product images has got out of bounds to enable illustrations to express whatever you think of and develop techniques of materials and concept day by day.
Pleasant humors have a strong power enough to impress consumers with an illustrator's creativeness and activeness through the technique of cartoons that give the sense of animation, as well as the classic realities full of seriousness. The soul of illustration is first the concept that induces excellent imaginative power and next the sophisticated technique by which an illustrator can express what he or she thinks of by matching it with his or her intention.
The final objective of an illustrator's drawing skill is to make his or her idea visualized and therefore, the soul of illustration is its concept. Visual scandal comes from Svignac, a French graphic designer. The form that an illustrator expresses in visual scandal is a visual language composed of simple and novel conception that directly and shockingly visualizes the actual situation which was clinically impossible to draw or an unrealistic figure into an unrealistic situation where interest and amusements and realistic materials have been processed.
Speaking of the history of such Savignac's design, it was created with elements of surrealism's depaysement before the 1st world war. Humorous or instant expressions thereof were desperately necessary in line with development of simple and economic expressions in the post war world in 1920's.
New expressions of mental image by visual scandal are significant for endless changes of free imagination in that subconsciousness dormant in the human being and its unsatisfied desire can he dissolved. Today, the method of expression by such visual scandal has much developed in methodology and structure so that images far from many correlations in time and space have been combined with cartoons to be expressed in many ways.
Due to the needs of the times in which computer has developed and many new media have come into being, expansion of its scope of environment, and introduction of visual scandal technique for illustration, its field of expression has diversified.
