상호작용 능력을 제고하기 위한 한국어 말하기 교육 방안 = Teaching Korean speaking for enhancing the Interactional competence

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to suggest that the concept of interactional competence should be applied to teaching speaking to enhance the authenticity of teaching methodology and to give concrete example of it. Interactional competence is introduced to supplement the concept of communication competence and proficiency movement due to they had their own deficiency. It distinguished with other concepts of language competence in that it could capture the dynamic nature of speaking ability and it is defined as the ability to express the intended meaning according to his/her interlocutors and context of speaking. One way of appliying the concept of interactional competence is to enhance the authenticity of dialogue in the speaking textbooks and of speaking tasks selecting real world tasks or similar task both in terms of subjects and function of task and procedure of interaction as well. Therefore this study suggests three ways of teaching speaking depending on learners’ proficiency. For beginner level, the task discourse building and evaluating is appropriate and for intermediate learners speaking diary task is proposed. At the last for advanced level learners, it is suggested that learners play a role of tutor for beginner learners who speak same language because it gives them an opportunity to analyze the spoken discourse of the target language as a teacher not a learner. In the future the measures to deploy the interactional competence in the area of teaching and testing second language.
