지역사회복지관 사회복지사의 클라이언트 폭력 경험에 대한 연구 = Client Violence Against Social Workers in Community Welfare Centers

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 클라이언트 폭력이 사회복지서비스 현장의 특성에 따라 그 심각성이 다를 것이라는 인식을 토대로 지역사회복지관 사회복지사에 대한 클라이언트 폭력의 실태 및 특성을 조사하였다. 또 클라이언트 폭력 경험이 사회복지사의 직무에 미치는 부정적인 영향력에 대한 분석을 병행하였다. 수도권에 위치한 26개 지역사회복지관 206명의 사회복지사 대상의 설문조사 결과, 응답자의 42.7%(n=88)가 2007년 한 해 동안 클라이언트 폭력을 한 차례 이상 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 폭력 빈도는 평균 3.05회 인 것으로 집계되어 사회복지사의 통제적 역할이 부각되는 아동보호, 가정폭력, 정신건강 서비스 현장의 클라이언트 폭력에 비해 다소 문제의 심각성이 낮음을 보여주었다. 그러나 영구임대아파트 지역 사회복지관에 근무하는 사회복지사와 재가복지서비스를 주로 담당하는 사회복지사들이 클라이언트 폭력 위험에 상대적으로 좀 더 노출되어 있음을 보여주었다. 클라이언트 폭력이 직무관련 변인인 직무 만족, 조직 헌신 및 이직 이도에 주는 유의한 영향력은 발견되지 않았다. 상기한 주요 연구결과를 토대로 클라이언트 폭력의 예방과 대처를 위한 지역사회복지관 관리 및 정책 시사점을 제기하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the prevalence of client violence among social workers in community welfare centers. Negative effects of client violence on work related variables are also analyzed. A sample of 206 social workers participated to the study and results showed that 42.7%(n=88) of the respondents experienced client violence in the year of 2007. This prevalence was lower than those of child protection service, family violence service, and domestic abuse services. Social workers in charge of home visiting services were at higher risk of the violence. Respondents working in community welfare centers located at permanent rental apartment complex were also at higher risk of the violence. To the present sample, however, client violence didn't show any significant effect on job satisfaction, intention to leave, and organizational commitment. Based on the results, implications for managing social community welfare centers are identified.
