학교장의 리더쉽과 창의력 = School Principal’s Leadership and Creativity

국문 초록 (Abstract)

학교에서의 학교장의 위치는 그 학교의 교육력에 절대적인 영향력을 행사한다. 그것은 경영자로서의 능력이라기보다 지도자로서의 능력 때문이다. 다시 말해서 학교장의 리더십은 좋은 학교를 만드는데 있어서 가장 큰 변수로 작용한다는 것이다. 그런데 학교장의 리더십에 있어서 가장 중요한 요소는 창의력이다. 학교장의 창의력 수준, 창의력에 대한 이해와 관심, 그리고 창의적한 학교조직문화풍토조성을 위한 노력과 역량 등이 유능한 학교장으로서의 리더십을 발휘하는데 결정적인 역할을 한다는 것이다. 따라서 좋은 학교를 만들기 위한 유능한 학교장으로서의 지도력을 행사하려면 먼저 스스로의 창의력을 기르고, 창의적인 학교문화풍토 조성에 힘써야 한다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문은 리더십이론의 발전과정과 각 이론의 특징을 살펴보고, 리더십과 창의력의 관계를 정리하는 동시에 유능한 리더가 되기 위해서 창의력을 어떻게 활용할 것인가 하는 방안을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In school, the position of the principal is very important. We definitely can say that the quality of a principal equals the quality of the school education. In this case, the quality of a principal means the ability of his or her leadership as a principal.
Many traits and characters of the good leaders have been introduced in the articles and books about school administrational theories. There are many articles also have been published about the good school principal’s leadership styles.
Most of the leadership theories concluded that the creativity is the most important ability of the good leader. The capable Leaders can transform the school organizational culture and climate as a creative organization. In the transformational school, the teachers want to follow there leader with full trust. They believe the principal’s ability as a school leader, and they agree the principal’s beliefs about the good education and the good school management. And they want to follow their leader unconditionally. They work with full commitment. They satisfy their school life.
In 21st century, the change of the society and the school function will be accelerated. Therefore, the important of the school principal’s leadership is more emphasized. The principals have to build the abilities as a leader. In them, creativity is the most important ability. They have to keep in mind as a belief that creativity is the basic skills for the students. They have to keep in mind that transforming the school culture as a creative one is the first mission too.
The relationship between leadership and creativity should be clarified. The relationship between leadership, creativity and the school achievement should be tested, too. These are the tasks of follow up studies.
