대학교양교육과정의 본질과 운영 = The Essence of Liberal Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The number of colleges and college students has shown rapid increase since the Liberation of 1945. In the process of its increase there has been continuous debate on improving the quality of education in general. Liberal education not only plays an important role in college curriculum, but also becomes hot issues in the course of revising the curriculum for the coming century.
This paper is present the basic direction and the standard of liberal education and further to develop an independent model for Yong-In University in the future.
The Paper begins with the review of Philosophical foundations of liberal education. More specific detail comes with the objective of the issues.
Developing a model for Yong-In University remains as an assignment for future research. As Harvard University developed independent and creative liberal education program through Red Book and Columbia did through Carmen Report since 1960, it is proper to have sound discussion for the betterment of curriculum for college students.
