Ossip zadkine 作品에 관한 考察 : 主題別 特性을 中心으로 = (A) Study on the Works of Ossip Zadkine

국문 초록 (Abstract)

立體主義 思潮에서 독창적인 조형감각을 표현한 Ossip Zadkine의 작품 분석을 통해 조형적 특성을 고찰하여 입체주의 조각의 표현 특성을 이해하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.
本 硏究의 目的은 Ossip Zadkine의 작품을 主題別로 분석하여 조형적인 특성을 고찰해 보는데 있다.
本 硏究의 內容은 Ossip Zadkine의 理論的 背景과 作家意識의 形成을 고찰하여 그 表現特性을 硏究하였다.
本 硏究의 方法은 문헌조사와 전시회의 카달로그이다. 作品은 분류된 영역별로 표현특성을 代表할 수 있는 것으로 82點을 目的標出하였고 그 特性을 分析하였다.
硏究의 結果를 종합하면 다음과 같다.
1. Ossip Zadkine의 작품은 주제별 특성에 따라 音樂家를 主題로 한 표현, 聖書를 主題로 한 表現, 그리이스 神話를 主題로 한 表現 紀念碑를 主題로 한 表現의 特性으로 分類된다.
2. 音樂家를 主題로 한 表現의 特性은 입체주의 형태의 特徵인 凹形과 凸形의 반복적인 사용과 기하학적인 角을 살려 표현하였다. 인체와 악기가 서로 엉켜져 있으며 대담하게 깎아 버린 面의 분할에 의해 만들어진 기하형태의 덩어리는 凹面과 凸面의 曲面 처리에 의해 부드러운 느낌을 준다.
3. 성서를 주제로 한 표현의 特性은 주로 인체를 對象으로 한 群像으로 입체주의 양식에 입각한 단순화와 변형된 형태의 特性을 가지며 자유로운 비례감각의 사용으로 mass와 공간과의 유기적인 조화를 이루었다.
4. 그리이스 神話 主題로 한 表現의 特性은 神에 대한 찬양의 意味가 있는 악기를 가진 인물상이 많으며 악기로 인한 음악적 요소의 가미로 정서적인 분위기를 묘사하였고 복잡한 형태가 합해질 때의 자유분방한 구성은 명쾌한 리듬감을 가진 하나의 종합체로 이루어졌다.
5. 紀念碑를 主題로 한 表現의 特性은 첫째, 초상조각 表現의 特性은 아프리카 彫刻의 영향을 받은 양식적인 特性이 있고 얼굴의 사실적 표현에 근거를 두고 얼굴의 이미지를 빌려 象徵的으로 表現하였다.
둘째, 상징적인 人物像으로는 종래의 紀念碑의 槪念을 깨고 人體의 變形과 내면세계의 절규를 표현하였다.
結論으로 Ossip Zadkine의 조형적 특성은 立體主義 思潮에서 인체를 대상으로 한 독창적인 양식을 發展시킨 표현의 特性을 나타내고있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study attempts to assist in understanding what the expressive characteristics are of Cubist sculpture. This will be done through research upon and analysis of the characteristics of the plastic arts of Ossip Zadine, which it is maintained, represent a unique expressive sense in the Cubist period.
The purpose of this study is a consideration of what constitutes the expressive characteristics of Ossip Zadkine's art by an analysis of his work.
The content of this thesis is comprised primarily of a study of the expressive style of Zadkine by a discussion of his theoretical background and the process of the formation of his consciousness.
The research method employed in this study was through Ninety works by Ossip Zadkine were selected in order to classify each by certain characteristics. There were thus eight criteria used for classification, each found to exemplify various aspects of his expressive style.
The results of this study are as follows:
1. The works of Ossip Zadine can be divided into four catagories according to their expressive characteristics; the theme of musical expression, expressive characteristics based on Biblical themes, expressive characteristics based on themes from Greek mythology, and the expressive characteristics based on sculpture intended as monuments or memorials.
2. Through the theme of musical expression one characteristic of Cubism is the repetitive use of the following geometrical angles 凹 and 凸. The human body and musical instruments become entangled in one another. Thus the geometrical masses formed through the partition of the bodly cut surfaces are given a feeling of softness by the handling of the curved surfaces; 凹 and 凸.
3. The expressive characteristics based on Biblical themes are illustrated by the use of the human body in groups. The simplified, modified character of the forms, based on Cubism, implies a free sense of proportion. Thus through the use of mass and space an organic harmony is achieved.
4. The expressive characteristics based on themes from Greek mythology employ many human forms with musical instruments that signify praise for God. By adding the musical elements through the use of musical instruments a sentimental flavor is created through this atmosphere.
5. The expressive characteristics based on sculpture intended to be monuments or memorials has been classified into two parts; portrait sculpture and symbolistic human physiognomy. Portrait sculptures have the stylistic quality of African sculptures and are based on realistic expression. The world was thus expressed symbolically through the image of the human face.
In conclusion, the expressive characteristics of Ossip Zadkine's works appear in his development of a unique form through the simplification and transformation of form following currents of Cubism.
