개항 이후 상하이 현성 공간의 근대적 변화 연구 = A Study on the Modern Changes in the Inner Space of the Shanghai Fortress after Opening

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the changing process of interior space of Shanghai. To do this, we analyze the change of majorfacilities and land use by waterway, road, and district based on three time periods classified by major historical events in Shanghai. Theresults of the study are as follows. First of all, the process of modernization of the present area of Shanghai is a result of repeatedimprovements. The waterways for defense and trade are transformed from infrastructure for urban development to pharmaceutical facilitiesalong with changes in time, and they are overcome through demolition and closure. Second, the past east - west waterway system is stillvalid as a modern transportation system. The traditional cotton textile industry using the east-west waterway from the inland to the HuangpuRiver has been transformed into a road connecting with the 16 ports of the Huangpu River in modern times. Now, it is being used as themain transportation system of Shanghai connecting Pudong area. Thirdly, the spatial structure of the interior area of Shanghai walled city bythe waterway has different results due to the characteristics of land use and residential blocks.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 동아시아 중국의 대표적인 개항장인 상하이(上海)를 대상으로 전통적인 중국인 화계(華界)의 중심 공간인 현성(縣城)을 대상으로, 근대적 변화과정을 추적해 보고자 하였다. 상하이의 전통도심인 화계의 근대적 변화를 추적해 봄으로써 현대 상하이의 도시구조를 이해할 수 있으며, 쇠퇴하고 있는 전통도심의 재생을 위한 현성의 역사·문화적 가치를 재평가해볼 수 있는 계기를 마련하였다. 연구 방법은 문헌 조사와 3차례에 걸친 현장조사를 실시하였고, 작성된 도면을 바탕으로 시기별로 3개의 고지도를 시각적으로 도해식 분석으로 종합하였다.
