한국스포츠사회학의 위기극복을 위한 실천전략 탐색 = Exploring practical strategies for overcoming academic crisis of Korean sociology of sport

After 3 years since the discussion on the crisis of American sociology of sport and the potential occurrence of similar problems in South Korea occurred in 2013 annual conference of Korean Society for the Sociology of Sport, Korea sociology of sport has experienced critical academic crisis. In this study, we have explored the crisis factors that Korean sociology of sport is currently experiencing, based on the literatures and the authors’ experiences and observations. And then, we proposed practical strategies to overcome the academic crisis. First we found 1) people regard sociology of sport as a boring field and subject that does not contribute to getting a job, 2) reduction of academic follow-up generation, 3) problem in getting a job of graduates, and 4) lack of national certificate of the field, as the factors of educational crisis of Korean sociology of sport. In order to overcome these crisis, we proposed 1) invention of diverse subjects relating to sociology of sport, 2) applying a smart education system, and 3) introducing national certificate system. Second, as the crisis in research area, we found 1) lack of research topics and methods, 2) lack of domestic/international journals, 3) problems in academic follow-up generation, and 4) faction and occlusive tendency of the scholars. In order to overcome these crisis factors, we proposed 1) having academic space where co-working with neighboring fields could be made, 2) exploring neighboring fields, 3) creating international academic journal, 4) expanding research topics, and 5) liberal interaction among scholars within the field. Third, as the crisis in social interaction, 1) lack of research topics close to the reality in sport, 2) distance between sport sociologists and the public, and 3) indifference on the topics related to social contribution were found. In order to overcome these crisis, we proposed 1) increasing research using reality-reflecting topics, 2) increasing interactions with social media and press, and 3) reinforcing activities in social volunteer area.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

2013년 한국스포츠사회학회 정기학술대회에서 제기된 북미스포츠사회학 위기의 전조적 현상과 한국 재현 가능 성에 대한 논의 이후 지난 3년 간 한국스포츠사회학은 학문적 위기를 맞이하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선행 연구 및 연구자의 경험과 관찰을 토대로 한국스포츠사회학의 위기요인을 정리하고, 위기 극복을 위한 실천전략 을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 한국스포츠사회학의 교육적 위기는 재미없는 교과목, 취업에 도움 되지 않는 교과목이라는 인식, 학문 후속세대의 감소, 전공졸업생의 취업문제, 관련 국가자격증제도 부족 등으로 나타 났으며, 이를 극복하기 위하여 다양한 교과목 개발, 스마트 교수법 적용, 국가자격증인 제도의 도입을 제안하였 다. 둘째, 연구영역의 위기는 다양하지 못한 연구주제 및 연구방법, 국내·외 학술지 부족, 학문후속세대 육성의 문제, 학자들의 당파성과 폐쇄성 등으로 나타났으며, 이를 극복하기 위하여 인접학문과의 학술적 공간의 마련, 인접학문으로의 탐색, 국제전문 학술지 발간 도전, 연구주제의 확장, 학자들의 자유로운 교류 등이 제시되었다. 셋째, 사회봉사영역의 위기로서 현실적합성 연구주제의 결여, 스포츠사회학자들과 대중과의 유리 문제, 사회기여 주제에의 무관심 등이며, 이를 극복하기 위해 현실 밀착형 주제연구 수행 증대, 사회언론활동 증대, 사회봉사영 역 활동을 강화할 것을 제안하였다.
