『혼불』의 텍스트성 ; 『혼불』의 기호 체계와 텍스트성 = The Semiosis and Textuality in Honbul

The purposes of this paper are to analyze a organization of discourse in Honbul, written by Choi Myung-hee, with text-semiotics, and to investigate systemization of it. Honbul provided three aspects for the study as following; one is the delicate style of beauty and aesthetic of novel, another is broad knowledge about the vast folklore-materials and the skill to reconstruct of national tradition, and the other is the her uniqueness in the narrative style and composition style. The complex aspects showed in the text, Honbul, made the reader to read it various points of view unlike the other novels. It can be summarized by three ways of reading. first way of reading is reading the structure depending on narrative-axis, second one is the reading culture through the vast data of ethnography, last one is poetic reading to interpret involved meaning of lyric-style. Consequently, to examine discourse-function of tree codes organizing the net of meaning in this text is a crucial criterion to reveal the textuality of Honbul. The research method of this paper is to make clear subject-meaning through reasoning main symbolic-code of text, and main results is the interrelationship between subject and historic-social context. Although the subject of study is Honbul composed of ten volumes, discourse-system of the first volume, <The wind of sway>, was mainly analyzed because narrative united-structure was compressed into this volume, Additionally, I have studied how discourse-organization worked in seven standards of textuality.
