The purpose of this study was to check the difference between school adaptation and self-directed learning ability by variables of counseling experience background, and to examine the correlation between school adaptation and self-directed learning ability, along with surveys of elementary school students' counseling experience.
The subject of this study was mainly for elementary school students from the 3rd to 6th grade of elementary school, and was classified into 3-4th grade and 5-6th grade, and the difference between school adaptation and self-directed learning was conducted together. In addition, 8 questions were asked about the background variables of the counseling experience (gender, grade, counseling experience, counseling place, counseling time, counselor type, counseling type, counseling experience feeling), and Cho Soo-jeong, composed of 30 questions (2014) The school's school adaptation measurement tool and Lee Kyung-hwa and Kim Soo-yeon (2018), which consist of 42 questions, were used for the self-directed learning test (SDLAT).
The results of this study are as follows.
First, in the survey of elementary school students' counseling experience, the proportion of students with counseling experience and those without counseling experience was similar, and most of the students who did not receive counseling responded that they had a positive opinion on the feeling of counseling experience (helpful counseling). .
This seems to require active external and environmental support, as there are many open psychological expectations or opportunities for counseling for elementary school students in the future.
Second, there was a significant difference in academic attitude and rule compliance in school adaptation according to the counseling experience of elementary school students. Notably, students with no counseling experience have more influence than those with counseling experience (school adaptation is better) Appeared. This can be related to cases such as maladjustment or problem behavior that can be considered along with the characteristics of academic attitude and rule compliance in the case of students with counseling experience. It is expected that the counseling program will be activated.
Third, there were significant differences in some of the sub-factors in school adaptation and self-directed learning ability according to the background variables of elementary school students. According to the type of feeling (counseling help), among the sub-factors of school adaptation, academic attitude/compliance was significant in all variables.
In addition, the area that showed the most relevance among the sub-factors of self-directed learning according to the background variable of the elementary school students was the'emotional' area, and the next was the'cognitive' area. In particular, in the emotional area, when compared with the content of the counseling experience, the content is mainly an item that approaches intrinsic factors, which can be seen in a similar context to the counseling experience. It also showed that it is related to other background variables after the definition domain.
As confirmed in this study, the majority of positive opinions about the feeling of counseling experience, with or without counseling experience, show that students have anticipation of counseling. If we look at changes in school adaptation and self-directed learning by linking elementary school counseling programs together, we think that it will be a basis for laying the foundation for more positive and active elementary school life.
