중국에서 한국학 교육의 역사와 현황 그리고 향후 전망 = Korean Studies education in China: history, current situation, and future expectations

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Korean Studies education was first set up in China by the department of Korean of the National Oriental Language School in February 1946. At that time, the first Korean department professor in China, Kim Jun-Yop - the former principal of Korea University - taught many courses to students of the National Oriental Language School, including Korean linguistics, Korean literature, Korean history, etc. This paper not only focuses on the universities stressing Korean education, but also on the history and current situation of Korean Studies education in all Chinese universities that emphasize the teaching and study of Korean literature, Korean history, Korean philosophy, etc. In addition, it also considers Korean Studies education at different universities based on the premise that different universities adopt different research directions and perspectives on Korean Studies. For instance, Peking University regards Korean Studies as a branch of Oriental Studies, while Yanbian University and the Minzu University of China view it as a part of Ethnologic Studies, Fudan University and Shandong University frame it as a part of Regional Studies in Asia, and Nanjing University focuses on the diversification platform of knowledge production in East Asia. Last but not least, this paper provides a brief discussion of future expectations for Korean Studies education.
