Every year, direct and indirect damage to farms caused by natural disasters continues to occur. In particular, damage caused by typhoons appears to cause great damage. This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between weather factors and damage rate in the event of a typhoon by utilizing the weather information provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration and the damage caused by crop accident insurance. Since the damage rate is proportional data with values between 0 and 1, it is not suitable to utilize standard statistical techniques that assume that the error term follows a normal distribution and has a constant variance. Therefore the analysis is conducted through the binomial regression and the beta regression model. As a result the adjusted R square of the beta regression model was higher than that of the binary regression model. And the minimum air pressure, maximum wind speed, and maximum humidity variables were significant among the weather variables. Through this analysis of the damage rate, it is expected that damage to farms can be reduced by preparing appropriate countermeasures in the event of a typhoon.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

매년 자연재해로 인한 농가의 직간접적인 피해가 끊임없이 발생하고 있다. 그중에서도 태풍으로 인한 피해는 전체 중 약 47%를 차지하는 만큼 큰 피해를 주는 것으로 나타난다. 본 연구는 기상청에서 제공하는 전국의 기상정보와 농작물 재해보험의 사고원인별 피해 내역을 활용하여 태풍 발생 시 기상요소와 낙과 피해율의 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 낙과 피해율은 0과 1 사이의 값을 갖는 비율 데이터이므로 오차항이 정규 분포를 따르고 일정한 분산을 가진다고 가정하는 표준적인 통계 기법을 활용하기에 적합하지 않다. 따라서 일반화 선형모형 중 이항 회귀모형과 베타 회귀모형을 통해 분석을 시행하고 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 그 결과 베타 회귀모형의 수정 결정계수가 이항 회귀모형보다 높게 나타났으며 기상 변수 중 최대 기압, 최대 풍속, 최고 상대습도 변수가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 기상요소와 낙과 피해율과의 관계로 최대 풍속이 빠를수록 최고 상대습도가 높을수록 낙과 피해율을 증가시키고 최저 기압은 증가할수록 낙과 피해율을 감소시키는 영향을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 낙과 피해율에 영향을 주는 다양한 요소들의 분석을 통해 태풍 발생 시 적절한 사전 대응조치 방안을 마련하여 농가 피해를 예방 및 경감시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
