율곡학의 확산과 심화2 ; 조선후기 율곡교육사상의 전승과 변용 -「격몽요결」을 중심으로 = Transmission and transformation of educational philosophy of Yulgok in the Late Choseon dynasty -focusing on「Gyeokmongyogyeol」

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines how Yulgok`s educational philosophy, which suggested a possibility of character training as an ``enlightened human on the value of life``, was transmitted and transformed in the late Choseon society. According to Yulgok, human can achieve ``humanity`` through education. For him, education is not only to learn institutionalized norm but also to awake free spirit. In this respect, education was suggested as a scheme to raise ``a human being who recognize the value of life`` other than instrumental human being. In this article, I would like to focus on the transmission and transformation of Yulgok`s educational philosophy rather than on his philosophy itself. Accordingly, it does not deal with any conceptual analysis of the youth education by Yulgok based on his 「Gyeokmongyogyeol」. This article aims at figuring out the transition of Yulgok`s 「Gyeokmongyogyeol」 or 「Seonghakibyo」in the process of history. If an hypothesis that the method of recalling is made by periodic request is made, the historical meaning of Yulgok`s 「Gyeokmongyogyeol」 shall be measured out. Such shall be confirmed through the comparison with Yi Deok Mu`s 「Sasojeol」 in the 18th century.
