『여 전사』의 서술 전략과 상호주체성 = The Narrative Strategy arid Inter-subjectivity of The Woman Warrior

This paper analyzes the narrative strategy and inter-subjectivity of Maxine Hong Kingston`s quasi-autobiographical work, The Woman Warrior. Since it is composed of stories collectively inherited from and told by Chinese/Asian Americans, and its autobiographical authority based on individualism is denied by its very author, the inter-subjectivity is able to determine its uniqueness, giving its readers room for searching for the unconscious desire of the subjects speaking in the in-between space called inter-subjectivity. Kingston`s narrative strategy, which engages singular subject ``I`` on the surface, smartly brings up the desire of the unconsciously speaking subjects, which are the subject of psychoanalysis, in order to argue that her subject is that of inter-subjectivity. By doing this, she could demonstrate the power of the speaking subjects ho can socially reclaim an appropriate status for Chinese/Asian Americans as a group and ontologically proclaim the subjectivity of the socially alienated subjects.
