주희 시 역주(朱熹 詩 譯注)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리나라에서는 주희보다는 주자(朱子)를, 성리학(性理學)보다는 오히려 주자학(朱子學)이라는 용어가 보다 보편적으로 알려져 있다.
그만큼 주자가 우리나라의 유학은 물론 학문이나 문화 전반에 걸쳐 끼친 영향이 다대하다는 것을 알 수 있다.
주자의 학문이 우리나라에 이렇게 막대한 영향을 끼쳤음에도 불구하고 최근까지만 해도 그의 문집에 대한 번역 시도가 없었다.
중국에서는 주자의 시의 문학적 성취도도 이미 인정하여 문학사에서도 심도 있게 다루고 있는 실정임을 감안하면 한국에서도 하루바삐 주자의 시를 번역 출판하여 소개하는 일은 큰 의의를 지닌다고 하겠다.
현재 중국에서는 초보적인 단계이기는 하지만 주자의 시에 주석을 달아서 출판한 예가 보인다.
우리나라에서도 주석을 다는 일은 조선시대 때부터 많이 시도되어 《주자대전차의집보(朱子大全箚疑輯補)》라는 훌륭한 주석서를 남겼다.
본인은 주자의 시도 꼭 번역이 되어야겠다는 생각을 가지고 박사학위 과정을 밟을 때 주자의 시를 모두 컴퓨터에 수록해두었으며, 이를 토대로 《주자시 색인》(이회출판사, 1996)을 출간한 적도 있다.
주희의 시는 《문집》의 전반부 10권에 수록되어 있는데, 권1에 114제 166수, 권2에 112제 171수, 권3에 32제 134수, 권4에 38제 79수, 권5에 132제 156수, 권6에 91제 195수, 권7에 53제 93수, 권8에 44제 66수, 권9에 54제 89수, 권10과 《별집》에 61제 89수가 수록되어 있다.
이외에 속집과 유집에 수록된 것까지 포함하면 모두 1426수가 수록되어 있다.
이 연구는 《전송시》 12권에 수록되어 있는 주희의 시 가운데 앞의 2권을 한글로 정확하게 번역하고 충실한 주석을 가하는 것을 목표로 삼았다.
이에 위에서 언급한 바와 같이 이번 연구를 통하여 주희의 시 12권의 분량 가운데 우선 앞의 2권 226제 337수를 번역하였다.
한편 이 연구를 통해서 기대할 수 있는 효과는 1) 주희 시의 남은 분량에 대한 번역의 초석, 2) 퇴계 등 우리나라 성리학자들과의 비교 연구, 3) 주희의 시와 문학관에 대한 재평가, 4) 그의 문학관련 논문에 대한 소스 제공 등이 있겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

People in Korea generally know the term "Zhuzixue(朱子學)" better than "Xinglixue(性理學)", and also know "Zhuzi(朱子)" better than "Zhuxi(朱熹)".
We can see that Zhuzi has a great influence on Korean Confucianism, scholarship and culture.
However, not many people have tried to translate Zhuzi's books into Korean until quite recently, even though Zhuzi's studies have a great influence on Korea.
Actually the literary achievement of Zhuzi's poems have already come to be recognized in China and are studied in-depth in literary history. So it will be meaningful that we translate his poems into Korean, publish books and introduce them to the people.
Even though it is at a primary level, some of Zhuzi's poetry books with footnotes are being published in China.
Making footnotes has been popular since the Choson Dynasty in Korea and we have a excellent book of footnotes called ZhuziDaquanZhayijibu(朱子大全箚疑輯補).
I have always thought that 주자's poems should be translated into Korean. While I was pursuing doctorate's, I saved all the poems of 주자 on my computer and I published Index of Zhuzi's poetry(朱子詩索引) based on this.
The poems of Zhuxi are collected in the first 10 parts of his Collection of works(文集), 114 title 166 poems in Volume 1, 112 title 171 poems in Volume 2, 32 title 134 poems in Volume 3, 38 title 79 poems in Volume 4, 132 title 156 poems in Volume 5, 91 title 196 poems in Volume 6, 53 title 93 poems in Volume 7, 44 title 66 poems in Volume 8, 54 title 89 poems in Volume 9, 61 title 89 poems in Volume 10 and Bieji(別集).
I have translated Zhuxi's first 2 books(226 title 337 poems) out of 12 through this study.
In the meantime, we can expect these things from this study ; 1) A cornerstone of the translation of the rest of Zhux's poems, 2) make a comparative study with Korean Neo-Confucianists such as Tyegye, 3) A re-assesment of Zhux's poems and his literary point of view, and 4) Providing sources of literature related theses.
