十九世紀新加坡漢籍出版述略 = A Brief Account of Singapore’s Chinese Publications in the 19th Century

漢籍資料龐大, 是值得深入挖掘的寶礦。多年來學者研究漢籍成果豐碩, 然而對 於新加坡關注尚少, 本文願稍加補充。綜觀十九世紀新加坡的漢字出版物, 主要包 括宗教書籍、新聞報紙和語文詞典等類型。本文依類個別介紹一件出版物。宗教 書籍方面, 談新加坡國家圖書館現藏最古老的本地出版漢籍《全人矩矱》。新聞報 紙方面, 談東南亞最早華人自辦日報《叻報》。語文詞典方面, 談用福建泉州和漳州 方言拼音學習馬來語的《華夷通語》。

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The massive amount of information in the Chinese books are worth exploring, and the academia has accumulated ample research results from the study of Chinese books, while less attention has been drawn to Singapore, which is what this paper looks at. Looking at Singapore’s Chinese Publications in the 19th century, they mainly consist of religious books, newspapers and language dictionaries. This paper introduces one publication of each category. In terms of religious books, the oldest collection of locally published Chinese book in the National Library Board, “Quan Ren Ju Yue”,will be discussed. In terms of newspapers, the earliest Chinese self-managed daily newspaper in Southeast Asia, “Lat Pau”,will be discussed. In terms of language dictionaries, using the dialect of Fujian Quanzhou and Zhangzhou as a romanization system for the learning of the Malay language, “Hua Yi Tong Yu”, will be discussed.
