성유흥산업으로 유입되는 여성이주와 글로벌 재생산노동분업: 글로벌 젠더정의의 관점에서

국문 초록 (Abstract)

총 2년으로 계획된 본 연구는 본 연구과제는 왜 성유흥노동자가 ‘이주의 여성화’ 현상으로 논의되고 있는지에 관한 문제제기에서 시작되었다. 어떤 이유로 성유흥노동자의 이주가 ‘이주의 여성화’의 카테고리에 묶일 수 있는가? 어떤 점에서 성유흥노동자의 이주와 가사노동자·결혼이민자의 이주가 연계점을 (물론 이주의 내용과 성격이 다르다는 차이점에도 불구하고) 찾을 수 있는가? 성유흥노동자의 이주 유입과 흐름을 ‘이주의 여성화’ 맥락에서 (만약에 이것이 가능하다면) 어떻게 위치 지을 수 있는가? 성유흥노동자의 이주를 글로벌 젠더정의의 관점에서 어떻게 설명, 평가할 수 있는가? 등의 질문에 답하고자 한다. 1차 년도에는 글로벌 재생산노동분업의 맥락에서 성유흥산업으로 유입되는 여성이주에 대한 분석을 통하여 이론화를 시도하였다. 2차 년도에는 1차 년도 연구 성과인 이론의 유용성을 한국과 일본의 성유흥여성이주에 대한 사례분석을 통해서 실증적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 궁극적으로 여성이주에 관련된 정책적 함의를 이끌어내고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research is to analyze women’s international migration to the sex/entertaining industries from the perspective of the international division of reproductive labor. The international division of reproductive labor means internationally divided as well as gendered separation between productive labor and reproductive labor. That is, it implies to mean that the Third World women move to the First World where they are mostly performing the reproductive labor of the First World. While many current studies on migrant sex workers/entertainers are largely concerned with the issues of sex trafficking and women’s human rights violation, this paper approaches the international migration of sex workers/entertainers in the global and domestic structures of the international division of reproductive labor where the systems of patriarchy and international capitalism are intersected. This paper contributes to addressing how migrant sex workers/entertainers are connected to migrant domestic workers and marriage migrants, how migrant women’s choices are constituted within/by broad structures and institutions, and how the ‘feminization of migration’ renders the global system of gender inequality.
