林泉高致의 畵記와 前 · 後序 = Notes on Hua-chiieh and the preface to Lin-ch'uan kao-chih

In this article the author has tried to define the compiler, editor, and the dates of writing and publishing of the Linch'uan kao-chih, and to clarify the obscure life of Kuo Hsi, by examining the contents and date of the section 'Huachi'('Notes on Painting', by Kuo Ssu, which gives details of his father's activities), the preface also by Kuo Ssu, and the Postscript written in praise of Kuo Hsi by Hsu Kuang-ing, a friend of Kuo Ssu, in the 4th month of 1117, Hs? Kuang-ing states that Kuo Ssu gave the title Lin-ch'uan kao - chih to his father's writings, and notes that the painter had a number of distinguished followers.
