The purpose of this study is to examine the Korean study characteristics of the Analects of Confucius, by focusing on the association book edition of the Analects of Confucius (geon) (gon) (1712, originally by Seo Kyoung-jo) from the 18thcentury. The subject data of this study are teaching plans, which were made in a form of textbooks to teach the Analects of Confucius to learners, read them with textual exposition, or study them on their own. By focusing on this data, the study aims to compare and analyze the Kyojeongcheong-edition Analects of Confucius preserved in Dosanseowon Confucian Academy and Yulgok’s Analects of Confucius in Korean annotation. The Confucian classics were very conservative in nature, but did not have that many noticeable differences in each edition. However, the characteristics of each period could be typically found in orthography, palatalization, vowel rounding, and phonological phenomenon such as vowel harmony. Especially, Seo Kyoung-jo edition of the Analects of Confucius from the 18th century that this study was based on has significance as a historical record with the exact author and period that was first introduced through this study.
