The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview of benefits of Forest Recreation to children and families based on programs initiated in the United States. By exploring these program ideas may be generated that can be utilized in Korean environments. The presentation is organized into three parts. Part I: U.S. Forest Service Trends provides a brief overview of U.S. Forest use trends and highlights the children`s Forests and More Kids in the Woods programs sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service. These programs are aimed at connecting children and families to nature in a way that will impact the health and wellbeing of citizens. Part II: The Healing: Benefits of the Forest recounts have values of Forests that we are all familiar with, but must be continually promoted and publicized to the general public. Part IV: Children in Nature is slide show that provides a synopsis of the value of nature for children and the responsibility of adults to provide meaningful experiences.
