李尙迪과 <歲寒圖> 觀覽 淸朝 人士와의 交遊(2)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 <세한도>를 관람한 18인을 중심으로 <세한도>를 관람하기 전과 관람 이후의 교유 모습을 두 차례에 걸쳐 찾아보았다. 이제 그 결과를 간략이 요약하면 다음과 같다. <세한도> 관람 이전부터 교유가 있었던 인물은 오찬, 장요손 정도였다. 진경용과 장수기도 교유가 있었던 것으로 보이지만 진경용은 단 한 차례 있었으며, 장수기는 제3자를 통한 인물 소개 정도에서 그쳤다. 그렇다면 실제로 <세한도> 관람 이전부터 알고 있었던 인물은 오찬과 장요손 두 사람으로 압축된다. 나머지 인물은 관람 당시 처음 만난 것으로 판단된다. 관람 이후의 모습을 살펴본 결과 교유의 폭이 확산되지 못한 것으로 판단된다. 관람 이전부터 교유가 있었던 오찬과 장요손은 여전히 교유의 깊이를 더해갔음이 확인되었다. 장요손은 <세한도> 관람 이후 곧장 湖北省 武昌 縣令으로 赴任하면서 이후로는 이상적과 상면하지 못하였다. 그러나 장요손은 15년이 지난 1861년까지 계속해서 편지를 보내며 아들 張晉禮, 딸 儷之夫人 조카 王右星에게 시켜 이상적에게 그림을 보내게 하는 등 끊임없이 우정을 이어갔다. 새로운 인물로 등장한 오준은 오찬이나 장요손 못지 않게 이상적과 끝까지 교유를 이어갔음이 밝혀졌다. 결론적으로 보면 <세한도> 관람 이전부터 교유를 맺었던 오찬과 장요손은 이후에도 오래도록 교유의 관계를 유지하였다. <세한도> 관람 이후에 인연을 맺기 시작한 인물로는 반증위, 조무견, 오준이 있었으나 조무견은 연령도 많은 탓에 오래도록 지속이 되지 못했다. 반면 반증위와 오준은 오래도록 교유의 폭과 깊이를 더해갔음이 드러났다. 이렇게 교유의 기간이 일찌감치 끝난 것은 그들이 일찍 세상을 떠났거나 아니면 일찍이 연경을 떠난 원인이 있었던 것이 아닌가 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined social intercourse between Lee Sang-jeok and 18 figures from Qing Dynasty who saw Sehando before and after the viewing. The results can be briefly summarized as follows: Lee had social intercourse with Oh Chan and Zhang Yao Sun even before they saw Sehando. While he also did with Jin Gyeong Yong and Jang Su Gi, he had social intercourse with the former only one time and had himself introduced to the latter through a third party. Thus he only knew only Oh Chan and Zhang Yao Sun even before the viewing of Sehando. All the other figures had a first encounter with him at the time of the viewing. After the viewing, however, the scope of their social intercourse failed to expand further. Lee's social intercourse with Oh Chan and Zhang Yao Sun managed to grow in depth more and more after the viewing. Zhang Yao Sun was deployed to govern Wuchang, Hubei Sheng right after the viewing and thus had no chance to see Lee again since then. Despite the situation, he continued to exchange correspondence with Lee for 15 years starting in 1861 and had his son Zhang Jin Li, his daughter Li Zhi Furen and his nephew Wang You Xing send paintings to Lee, fostering his friendship with him on an ongoing basis. Oh Jun, who emerged as a new face, turned out to continue his social intercourse with Lee till the end along with Oh Chan and Zhang Yao Sun. In addition, the figures from the Pan family of Wuxian, Jiangsu had active social intercourse with Lee, who had especially very active relationships with Pan Ceng Wei. Jang Mok too had some social intercourse with Lee only to fail to continue it due to his early death. There were other individuals who had social intercourse with Lee, but they remained in the stage of having their news or recent conditions informed to Lee through a third party. In short, Lee maintained social intercourse with Oh Chan and Zhang Yao Sun, who had relationships with him even before seeing Sehando, for a long period of time. After the viewing, he developed connections with Pan Ceng Wei, Jo Mu Gyeon and Oh Jun, as well. While his relationships with Jo Mu Gyeon ended short because of his old age, he reinforced his relationships with Pan Ceng Wei and Oh Jun both in scope and depth for many years. Lee could not continue long relationships with those who passed away early or left Beijing early.
