The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of muscle contraction pattern of flex and pointe´ movement on quadriceps and gastrocnemius in using IEMG, in eight ballet and eight korea female high school dancers.
To reduce the variation within groups, subjects of this study were consisted of similar age, all female dancers, and selected the dancers of experience over 4 years
To analysis the IEMG of ballet and korea dances, one way MANOVA analysis was used. In statistically significant case, one-way ANOVA was used
In pointe´, mean IEMG of ballet was significantly more increased than that of korea dance at vastus medialis and vastus lateralis(P=.0001), and gastrocnemius. It is considered that at vastus medialis and vastus lateralis it results the difference of amounts of genu recavatum and turnout, that at gastrocnemius it results the difference of the arch structure of ankles between two groups.
In flex, mean IEMG of korea dances was significantly more increased than that of ballet at the both vastus medialis and vastus lateralis(P=.0108). It is considered that it results the difference of the position safeness between two groups.
