This study examined the characteristics of the Yi-Injae’s old book collection by analyzing bibliograhpically categorized under current status, edition, subject, and period. Yi In-jae was a representative old books collector in Daegu from around 1940, left collection details and ownership stamps, and donated 7,540 volumes of collections to Keimyung University in 1982. The collection consists of 6,136 Korean old books of 2,361 kinds, 1,177 Chinese old books of 217 kinds, and 277 Japanese old books of 227 kinds by countries. By edition, wood block prints are 4,582 books of 1,294 kinds, metal type prints are 467 books of 126 kinds, and the manuscripts are relatively high in proportion with 954 books of 661 kinds. By subject, section of literary works and section of Buddhism are 2,273 (30.1%) books of 668 kinds and 1,033 volumes of 432 kinds, respectively. By period, the majority of books published in the 19th and 20th centuries are 4,243 volumes of 1,623 kinds, and 770 volumes of 279 kinds were produced before Imjin war (1592), including rare books in Goryeo dynasty. It is need to research on items in more depth about Yi In-jae’s collection, and hope to active research on book collectors and their collcetions in the 20th century.
