      This study was accomplished to discuss the advantages and limits of youth cyber-mentoring program provided by a conglomerate in Korea. This program consisted of mainly on-line mentoring and off-line events and its participants are youths from the two regional children`s centers and employees of S conglomerate. By shedding lights on the advantages and limits of the cyber mentoring, this study attempted to contribute to the development of cyber mentoring program in the near future. Main research method was adopted in-depth interviews with mentors and mentees participating in this program. The advantages of cyber mentoring were refreshment for daily lives for mentors and mentees and effectiveness of participation regardless of time and space for mentors. Also, online writing gave participants reflexivity and relative distance between a mentor and a mentee which kept them being too involved with each other. However, cyber mentoring had limits that there could be simplification and biases resulted from on line written communication and participants had difficulties to develop mutual relationship. Through on line written communication, participants often had the situations that they could not respond to their partners right after they got messages. When such situations continued, it was hard to develop mentor-mentee relationship. In addition, on line activities had the problems of commitment, involvement and accessability. Cyber mentoring was recommended in relation to the aims of the program and characteristics of participants` backgrounds. The program discussed in this study showed that cyber mentoring was more effective when it came together with off line activities.
