Holland 개인 흥미-학과 일치도와 학과 적응도와의 관계:이공계 대학생의 학년에 따른 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로 = Mediating Effect of Self-efficacy in the Relationship of Interest Congruence to Science and Engineering Students' Adjustment to College: Comparison of Grades

This study explored the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship of interest congruence with college students' adjustment. Three hundreds and five undergraduates whose major are either science or engineering were recruited. Results indicated that interest congruence was effective in predicting students' adjustment to college for all grade levels (sophomore, junior, and senior college students), but interest congruence was effective in predicting satisfaction with academic accomplishment for sophomore college students, but not for junior and senior college students. In addition, results in multiple regression analyses showed that self-efficacy mediated the effect of interest congruence on college students' adjustment for juniors and seniors. However, the mediating effect of self-efficacy was not shown for sophomore college students. Implications for career and academic counseling practice and future research are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 이공계 대학생을 대상으로 자기효능감이 개인 흥미-학과 일치도와 학과적응 간의 관계를 매개하는지의 여부를 확인하였다. 연구대상은 이공계 학과 대학생 305명이었다. 자기효능감의 매개효과가 학년에 따라 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해서 저학년(2학년)과 고학년(3, 4학년)으로 나누어 각각 검증하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 저학년과 고학년 모두 개인 흥미-학과 일치도는 학과적응의 전체 점수에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 저학년의 경우와는 달리 고학년의 경우 개인 흥미-학과 일치도가 학과적응의 하위요인인 학업성취 만족을 의미 있게 설명하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 개인 흥미-학과 일치도가 학과적응에 미치는 영향에서 자기효능감의 매개효과를 분석한 결과 저학년과 고학년의 경우 각기 다른 결과가 나타남을 발견했다. 즉, 저학년의 경우 개인 흥미-학과 일치도가 학과적응을 설명하는 관계에서 자기효능감이 매개역할을 하지 않았다. 그러나 고학년의 경우 자기효능감은 개인 흥미-학과 일치도가 학과적응에 미치는 영향을 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 이공계 대학생의 진로지도를 위한 시사점을 제시하고, 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.
