철학 : 한국 유학 연구의 과제와 전망 = How Should We Write the History of Philosophy in Korean Confucianism?

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 한국유학사 서술과 관련한 문제점을 지적하고 일부 대안을 시도한 글이다. 주요한 쟁점은 ① 조선초기 사상계를 관학파와 사림파로 유형화하는 시각에서 관학파의 개념내용이 불분명하기 때문에 새로운 유형화가 필요하다는 것, ② 16세기 성리학을 주리와 주기로 유형화하는 방식은 지양되어야 한다는 것, ③ 예송 논쟁과 예론에 관한 기술을 철학적 측면에서 다루어야 한다는 것，④ 인물성론에 대한 기술을 16세기 성혼과 이이의 논쟁 단계부터 다루고, 17세기 송시열과 그 문인들 사이의 미발 개념을 둘러싼 논쟁들을 포함해서 기술해야 한다는 것, ⑤ 성리학과 실학을 전근대적 사상과 근대지향적 사유로 대별해서 이해하는 방식을 지양해야 한다는 것 ⑥ 한국유교사를 동아시아 사상사의 전개과정과 연계하여 기술해야 한다는 것, ⑦ 개별 인물의 사상에 대한 기술과 논쟁에 대한 기술이 균형있게 배치되어야 한다는 것, ⑧ 연구사에 대한 비판적 정리를 통해 상이한 연구시각을 독자가 알 수 있도록 제시해야 한다는 것 등이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This treatise specifies the points at issue in describing the history of philosophy in Korean Confucianism, and suggesting substitutes. Major issues are; ① the angle of view on classifying the early Lee dynasty's philosophical sphere into government and private school factions needs to be modified, because of the uncertain classification concept in the government school faction, ② such classifying methods as dividing 16th century Neo-Confucianism into Ki-oriented and Reason-oriented should be sublated, ③ description of the Proprieties Dispute and Proprieties Argument should be dealt at the philosophical point of view, ④ description on 'Human Nature and Animal Nature'(人ㆍ物性)theory should be dealing from the controversy between Seong Hon(成渾) and Yi Yee(李珥) in 16th century, and should include the controversies on the concept of 'Mi-bal'(未發: original nature of mind) between Song Si-yeol(宋時烈) and scholars from his school in 17th century, ⑤ classification of the Neo-Confucianism(性理學) and Sirhak(實學) into such categories as premodern and promodern, respectively, should be sublated, ⑥ description of the history of Korean Confucianism should be related with the history of thoughts in the East Asia, ⑦ description on thoughts of individual person and controversy should be balanced, ⑧ various view angles of study should be provided to readers through critical shaping of the history of study.
