This Study was performed to investigate the influence of organizational climate on organizational commitment and client-oriented tendency of social workers in public sector focusing on empowerment and job satisfaction as mediators. The data were collected from the public social workers in Chungnam region from April until May, 2011. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS statistical package for structural equation modeling. The results of this study were as follows.
First, organizational climate had not significant influence on public social workers’ organizational commitment, but had positive influence on their client-oriented tendency. Second, organizational climate had positive influence on empowerment and job satisfaction of public social workers. Third, public social workers’ empowerment had positive influence on their organizational commitment, but had not significant influence on their client-oriented tendency. Also, public social workers’ job satisfaction had not significant influence on their organizational commitment, but had positive influence on their client-oriented tendency. Fourth, public social workers’ empowerment completely had mediation effect between organizational climate and their organizational commitment, but did not have any mediation effect between organizational climate and their client-oriented tendency. Also, public social workers’ job satisfaction had not any mediation effect between organizational climate and their organizational commitment, but partially had mediation effect between organizational climate and their client-oriented tendency.
