대학원생의 학문적 글쓰기 경험에 관한 연구 = A Narrative Inquiry on Graduate Students’ Academic Writing Experiences

We tried to understand graduate students’ experiences on academic writing and their meaning in terms of students’ identity formation as academics. Toward this end, we based on narrative inquiry to explore what experiences four graduate students went through in writing and publishing journal articles. Four stories were constructed by journal writing, conversation and unstructured interviews. We interpreted the stories regarding what difficulties the students experienced in academic writing, how they overcame the difficulties and formed their academic identity based on the experiences. From the results, we suggested implications on education for academic writing of graduate students.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 학자 또는 연구자가 되어가는 과정에 있는 대학원생들이 학문적 글쓰기 과정에서 어떤 경험을 하는지 살펴보고, 그들이 학자로서의 정체성을 형성하는 데 그러한 경험이 어떤 의미를 갖는지를 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 내러티브 탐구 방법을 이용하였으며, 4명의 석․박사과정 학생들의 학술지 논문 집필 및 게재 경험에 관한 현장텍스트를 저널 쓰기, 대화, 비구조화된 면담을 통해 수집하였다. 학문적 글쓰기에 관한 대학원생들의 이야기는 글쓰기 과정에서 부딪치는 난관과 그것에 대한 극복, 그리고 이를 통해 그들이 어떻게 학자로 성장해 가는지와 관련하여 해석하고자 하였으며, 연구결과를 바탕으로 학문적 글쓰기에 있어서 대학원생의 교육과 지도에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.
