학령기 아동의 신체 학대 사정을 위한 척도개발 = Development of a Physical Abuse Assessment Scale for Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

아동학대의 문제가 매우 심각함에도 불구하고, 실천현장에서 한국의 사회문화적 특성을 반영한 효과적인 사정도구는 매우 부족한 상황이다. 학령기 아동의 신체 학대 사정을 위한 척도개발의 본 연구는 기존 척도가 가진 한계점을 보완하고, 아동학대 실천현장에서 효과적으로 쓰일 수 있는 평가도구를 고안하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구는 1) 문항개발, 2) 예비조사, 3) 본 조사의 과정으로 나뉘어 수행되었으며, 문항개발에서부터 척도의 신뢰도와 타당도를 확인하고 완성하는 단계까지 아동은 물론 아동학대 업무를 담당하는 실무자, 전문연구진의 의견이 고루 반영되도록 진행되었다. 개발된 척도의 문항들은 매우 높은 수준의 내적일치도(신뢰도)를 보여주었으며, 요인분석에서도 척도의 문항들이 "신체적 학대"라는 개념(구성, construct)을 효과적으로 측정하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 기준관련 타당도에 있어서도 척도가 성격이 다른 두 집단의 차이를 잘 구분하였으며, 유사개념을 측정하는 방임척도와도 높은 수준의 동시타당도를 확인해 주었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 척도는 기존의 평가도구들이 가진 제한점을 보완하면서 아동학대 예방과 치료에 종사하는 실무자들에게 도움이 되는 유용한 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Despite growing concerns about severe and prevalent physical abuse of children, small attention has been given in developing an effective assessment tool to measure children`s physical abuse. This extensive child abuse reflect social and cultural problems in Korean society. To lessen the gap between what is taught and the actual needs of the social workers working in the field of child abuse prevention, the study aims to develop an effective assessment scale to measure physical abuse for children. From the development of the initial item pool, a series of research procedures were followed to address various opinions from different stake-holders, including children, workers, and field researchers. Through purposive sampling, 366 children have participated in the study, reporting physical abuse they have experienced; the perpetrators either the parents or other care givers. Including Reliability Analysis and Factor Analysis, various analyses were conducted to examine psychometric of the scale, reliability and validity. Results of the analyses indicated the scale had a very high level of internal consistency, construct validity, sensitivity, and criterion-related validity, ensuring the scale to be an effective assessment tool in measuring physical abuse in children.
