This study aims to examine the effects of the Creative Development (CD) Program on young children`s creativity. The questions used for research were the following. 1. What is the effect of the CD Program on children`s creativity? 2. Are there any significant differences in the effects of the CD Program on children`s creativity according to their IQ? 3. Are there any significant differences according to their sex? The subjects of the study were 60 five year-old children, 30 of them from Y Kindergarten (the experimental treatment group) and 30 from G Kindergarten (the no-treatment control group) in the City of Kwang Ju. The CD Program was employed for a 12-week period and the data were collected using the General Creativity Test for Children (Chon, Kyoung-Won, 1995) and the Revised Korean Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (1995). The data were analyzed by ANCOVA, Crossed design of Two-way ANOVA with the SPSS program. The results of this study are summarized as follows : 1. The CD Program increased children`s creativity significantly : the effects appeared in all scales of creativity : originality, flexibility and imagination, and in all the areas : physical, linguistic and diagrammatic. 2. There was no significant difference in the effect of the CD Program on the children`s creativity according to their IQ or sex. In conclusion, the CD Program proved to be an effective approach for the creative development in five year-old Kindergarten children.
