독일어 이야기재현의 한국어 번역. 요한나 슈피리 <하이디>의 한국어 번역본 비교 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이야기재현은 인간의 가장 보편적인 언어활동 중의 하나이며, 인간 언어의 가장 보편적인 언어특성 중의 하나이다. 또한 이야기재현은 이야기를 재현하는 주체가 자신의 언어 경험을 재구성하고 재해석하는 언어행위이다. 이런 기본 틀 속에서 이야기재현 현상이 문법과 통사구조, 의미와 논리구조 등과 같은 언어의 미시적 분야에 국한되지 않고 보다 거시적인 시각에서 다루어질 필요성이 대두된다. 이야기를 재현하는 사람은 이야기재현을 통해 대화상대자에게 ‘한 편의 드라마’를 보여준다. 여기에서 이야기재현의 기능적·화용론적·의사소통적 측면이 언급될 수 있다. 이는 일상대화 속의 이야기재현과 문학작품 속의 이야기재현에 모두 적용된다. 다시 말해, 이야기재현이란 이야기를 재현하는 사람이 연출하는 하나의 작품으로 여길 수 있다.
이탈리아어로 ‘트라두토리-트라디토리(traduttori-traditori)’란 언어유희가 있다. 이 언어유희의 자구적 의미는 ‘번역자(통역자)-반역자’이다. 이는 어떤 텍스트를 한 언어에서 다른 언어로 옮기는 것이 얼마나 어려운 일인지, 아니 번역 자체가 불가능으로의 도전과 비슷할 수 있다는 점을 암시한다. 본 논문은 한 언어(독일어)의 다양한 이야기재현 현상들이 다른 언어(한국어)로 번역될 때, 번역자가 어떤 번역전략을 가지고 번역했는지를 실증적으로 분석한다. 이때 실증 분석을 위해 선택한 독일어 텍스트는 우리에게 너무도 잘 알려진 『하이디』이다. 『하이디』는 스위스 여류 아동·청소년 문학가 요한나 슈피리의 문학작품 중에서 그녀를 베스트셀러 작가이자 동시에 세계적 작가로 부상시킨 작품이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Speech report is not only one of the most universal language activities of human beings, but also one of the most universal characteristics of the human language. First of all, it is a language activity with which the report speaker re-constructs and re-interpret his or her language experience. In the framework of this recognition there is a need to address a series of phenomena of speech report with wider perspectives. The report speaker shows his or her conversation partner ‘a drama.’We can here speak about functional·pragmatic·communicative aspect of speech report. This applies to both report speech in everyday conversation and report speech in literary work. That is, report speech can be regarded as a piece of work which report speaker directs.
There is a Italian word game of ‘traduttori-traditori’. Its literal meaning is ‘translator-traitor.’ It implies that how difficulty it is to translate a text from a language into another and the translation itself is nearly similar to a impossible challenge This study analyzes empirically a succession of translation strategies of translators, when they translate various phenomena of report speech from German into Korean.
