This study is an attempt to measure kindergarten teacher's self image and to determine the factor structure of the image. This study used a semantic differential meaning scale that was composed of 45 bipolar adjective items. The results of the study are as follows;
1. Self image of kindergarten teachers consists of 4 factors such as social evaluation kindergarten teachers, attitude, qualification, and role. Among these factors, social evaluation is the most important factor accounted for 46.8% of common variance.
2. The kindergarten teachers generally have positive images on themselves. Especially,
the shorter career and the higher academic background teachers have, the more positive self images they keep.
The results of the study imply the need of encouragement such as socio-political consideration for kindergarten teachers and they try to keep positive self images through continuous and systematic in-service education.
