The purpose of this study is to inquire into the different manner in which the adolescent with and without mental disorder perceive their parent by Kinetic.
Family Drawing. The subject of the study consists of two groups, 94 normal students who atlend high school located in Pusan and 91 adolescent with mental disorder who have been treated at the neuropsychiatric hospital in Pusan. The Knetic Family Drawings, which have been made by the subject during one month starting from June 1st to June 30th, were given scores according to the five dimensions - Action. Dynamics, Human figure characteristics, Style, and Symbol - as Layton(1984) and Bums(1982) suggested and analyzed by SPSS in terms of frequency, X2-test, and t-test.
      The result are as follows
      1. In the Action dimension(Action level), two groups showed different parent perception at the significant level, indicating that the patient group perceive their parent less actively than the nomal one.
      2. In the Dynamics dinlension(Distance), two groups showed different parent perception at the significant level, indicating that the patient group perceive their parent with more conflict, denial, and resistance than the nomal one.
      3. In the Human figure characteristics dimension(Figure and Stereotype), two groups showed different parent perception at the signiificant level 3nd two groups showed different parent perception at the significant level, indicating that the patient group perceive their parent with more rejection and avoidance than the normal one.
      4. In the Style dimension(Mother encapsulation), two groups showed different parent perception at the significant level, indicating that the patient group perceive their mother more negatively than the normal one.
      5. In the Action(Human action) and Symbol dimension, the patient group largely showed either 'standing' (29.3% for themselves, 23.5% for their father, 3nd 23.2% for their mother) or 'none' (39.0% for themselves, 30.6% for their father, and 28.0% for their mother), indicating that the patient gronp perceive their parent as negative and introversive.
Comprehensively, it may be concInded that the adolescent with mental disorder perceive both their parent and themselves more negatively 3nd inactively than normal adolescent, implying that one needs to support both the adolescent with mental disorder and their parent, and that one must educate them properly according to different mental disorder.
