The Contents of the 4th (former) and 5th (current) edition of the Korean elementary school science including `Inquiry Life` and `Elementary Science` were analyzed and compared. The study was conducted focusing on the plant area of the guidebooks for teachers. The following findings were obtained. 1. Partial modification and supplement were observed in new guidebooks, especially the kinds and frequency of plants were increased in lower grade. 2. In comparision of kinds and frequency of plants, 150 kinds rind 1910 frequency appeared in the new guidebooks, where 148 kinds and 1475 frequency appeared in the former guidebooks. Thus much more frequency of plants appeared in the current edition than in the former one. 3. Among 150 kinds of plants in the new guidebooks, 37 kinds were newly appeared plants. 4. In the former and current one, the kinds of plants appeared in guidebooks were about twice than in the textbooks.
