미국의 학교기반 학습프로그램과 일터기반 학습프로그램 사례연구 = A Case Study for School-based Learning Programs and Work-based Learning Programs in the United States of America

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 학교와 직업간의 연계는 세계적으로 인적자원개발분야의 주요한 관심사항이 되고 있다. 한국에서도 산업체에서 실제 필요로 하는 능력을 갖춘 인력을 양성하기 위해 학교와 일터의 연계를 강화하려고 노력하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국에서의 학교와 일터의 연계를 강화하기 위한 시사점을 도출하기 위해 미국의 사례를 분석하였다. 연구의 방법은 주로 미국 "학교와 일터간 연계강화법" 및 관련 문헌들을 고찰하였으며, 현지방문조사를 통해서 자료를 수집하였다. 그 결과 미국에서는 "학교와 일터간 연계강화법"을 중심으로 학교기반 프로그램과 일터기반 프로그램이 주축이 되어 다양한 프로그램들이 진행중임을 발견하였으며, 한국이 배워야 할 핵심은 학교공부와 일터에서의 실습의 통합 및 역할분담, 실제적인 직업경험 제공, 학교와 기업뿐만 아니라 지역사회단체들과의 견고한 파트너십의 형성이라고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research was conducted to study work-based learning programs and school-based learning programs in the U.S.A to find out implications for vocational education and training in Korea. Data of this research was collected through review of literature, search of internet resources, and program sites visits.
The major findings of the study were as follows :
(1) School-based learning programs were conducted in schools for students and were implemented in the forms of school-based enterprise, career academy, job simulation labs, vocational/occupational labs, mock business/industry projects, and senior and class project.
(2) Work-based learning programs were conducted in workplaces for students and were implemented in the forms of youth apprenticeship, cooperative education, clinical experience, on-the-job training, mentorship, internship, aligned work-study programs, school-linked summer employment, community service learning), business/education contacts, and tech prep.
(3) Both of school-based learning programs and work-based learning programs can bring vocational training benefits to students, industry, and society practically. For example, the programs can help student prepare for their job through practical experiences. Therefore, in Korea, it is recommended to adapt those programs based on student interest, industry needs and school vision as well.
