This study investigated the relationships between playfulness, interpersonal problem solving ability and adjustment in preschool children. The subjects of this study were 132 children from 3- to 5- year olds. The playfulness scale (Barnett,1990), social divergent thougt problem solving test (Jeong Hee Kim, 1993), and adjustment questionnaire (Jewsuwan, Luster, & Kostelink, 1993) were used. The data were analyzed by t-test and canonical correlation analysis. The major findings were as follows : (1) Children`s adjustment differed by their playfulness and interpersonal Problem solving ability. (2) The most Powerful predictor of children`s adjustment was Social Spontaneity of playfulness. The adjustment dimension was best predicted by children`s playfulness and interpersonal problem solving ability was Peer Competence.
