4세-7세 유아들의 낱자 지식과 음운인식능력과의 관계에 관한 연구 = A study of relationship among phonological awareness, letter knowledge, letter-sound correspondence and age

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is assumed that there must be link between letter knowledge and phonological awareness. There is the hypothesis that letter knowledge was a significant precursor for phoneme awareness. However, there is little research examining the nature of this relationship empirically. This study aims to investigate this relationship using 1044 children aged between 49 month and 84 month old. Several tests were conducted to these children measuring phonological awareness skill and letter knowledge of these children in person. Results are followed.
There is a significant correlationship among those variables. However, multiple regression analysis revealed that letter knowledge is not an important predictor of later phoneme awareness. Age is more important predictor of later phoneme awareness.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

낱자 지식과 음운인식 발달 간에 관계가 있다는 가정과 낱자 지식은 특히 음운인식능력 중 음소인식능력과 밀접한 관계가 있고, 음소인식능력을 가장 잘 설명하는 것은 낱자 지식이라는 가설이 있다. 그러나 한국에서는 아직 이러한 관계에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어져 있지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 낱자 지식과 음운인식능력과 연령과 자소-음소대응규칙 지식 간의 관계를 분석하고 이들 변인들 중에 음운인식 발달에 가장 영향력이 큰 변인이 어느 것인가를 조사하고자 하였다. 전국에서 1112명의 유아들을 표집하였고, 이들 유아들을 대상으로 음운인식 검사, 낱자 지식 검사, 자소-음소대응규칙 지식 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 연령, 음운인식능력, 낱자 지식, 자소-음소대응규칙 지식 간에는 정적인 상관관계가 있었다. 음운인식능력 발달에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 변인은 낱자 지식인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 선행 연구들의 가정과는 달리 음소인식 발달에는 낱자 지식이 크게 영향을 미치지 않았다. 연령이 음소인식 발달에 더 영향력이 컸다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 결과가 나온 것에 대해 논의하였다.
